STAND aims to support the families and carers of neurodivergent, and potentially neurodivergent, children in Scotland so they are in the best position possible to help their children thrive and live happy lives.
We want to live in an inclusive society that cherishes autistic and neurodivergent children. We aim to work within our local communities and at a national level to create a safer and more inclusive environment for neurodivergent children.
We provide practical and emotional support to families and carers of autistic and neurodivergent children. We aim to ensure all families feel welcome at our events and leave knowing they are never alone.
We aim to empower families and carers of neurodivergent (or potentially neurodivergent) children to advocate for their rights by educating them in how to exercise those rights and access available support.
At STAND, we believe every neurodivergent child and young person deserves to feel safe, supported, and included. We’re a parent-led charity based in East Lothian, and we work hard to provide families with the kind of support we know makes a difference — because we’ve lived it ourselves.
Your donation helps us run:
✨ Stay & Play sessions — safe, sensory-friendly spaces where children can play and thrive.
✨ Peer support groups — giving parents and carers a chance to connect and feel less alone.
✨ Empowerment workshops — building families’ knowledge and confidence to advocate for their children.
✨ Community inclusion projects — working with schools, venues, and services to make East Lothian more welcoming for everyone.
Every pound you give stays local and directly supports families in our community. Whether it’s funding sensory toys, keeping venues open, or training our volunteers, your generosity makes a real difference.
